APARTMENT LIVING TIP
Do Something You’ve Always Meant To
It’s a near-universal experience: every day on your way home from work you walk past a little art gallery and tell yourself that one day you’re going to stop in—but you’re always in a hurry to get home. Or you’ve been meaning to take a few days to drive two states over to meet your new niece—and she just celebrated her second birthday. Time flies. Art galleries close. Newborn relatives head off to kindergarten.
Life is busy and resources are limited. You may not be able to drop everything and make that long anticipated trip this summer but you can take a few hours out to try ice skating or put some crazy highlights in your hair, or have lunch with an old friend you haven’t made time for in ages. Don’t wait for the perfect moment to do something you’ve always wanted to do. Do it today!
TIPS FOR BUDGETING AND SAVING MONEY
The staff here in the management office of our apartment community is pleased to offer you four tips for saving money and budgeting that you can start using today!
1. Make a Realistic Budget and Then Stick to It: You might be spending more than you need because you haven’t been tracking expenses. Write down what you actually spend in a month. This will help you identify areas where you can trim what you spend.
2. Take Advantage of Sales By Buying in Bulk: Bring a shopping list to help you stick to your budget. Inside stores, keep an eye out for sales. For example, if your favorite pasta sauce goes on sale for half-off, buy extra jars now so your dinners will be less expensive for the coming months.
3. Consolidate Shopping Trips With Other Errands: To save money and use less gas, try as much as possible to batch your errands into a single trip. You’ll put less wear and tear on your vehicle while also lowering your fuel bill.
4. Pack Lunch Instead of Eating Out at Work: Making your own lunch at least once a week will help you save on restaurant takeout or delivery. At the very least, pack leftovers from a big dinner to eat for lunch the following day.
In a philosophical sense, you can view money that you’ve saved as money earned.
We can all benefit from the reminder that it’s prudent to follow a budget and take advantage of opportunities that can help save money.
